| my choices in hides are made according to the different characteristics you find in them. Bull and Bison hides for instance are strong and very durable while being stretchy like Deer and Elk .They also have a good texture to them as well ,adding to the designs I build around them . Deer and Elk have a whole other feel to them , they are strong and soft at the same time .Some times the Deer will scratch themselves using trees ,this will often leave scars which I will incorporate into my designs . My goal is to design a one of a kind piece of art that you can wear and use .One that is eye catching and still functional . Because the hides vary in color and surface details and because all my designs are cut out by hand individually . each piece is one of a kind . I may do more than one of a design in the same colors from time to time but generally each design will have a hand made one of a kind feel to it . |
